Call quality depends on a lot outside the app - Wi‑Fi, mobile network, the voice provider, your phone, or the other person’s line. When a call started breaking up, you couldn’t tell which one was the cause. And once it ended, there was no easy way to tell us how it had sounded.
Now you can. Signal bars on every call show your connection while you talk. Tap them for details and a tip. After you hang up, a quick star rating tells us how the call sounded.
How to use this?
Make or answer a phone call in the app. As soon as the call connects, a four-bar indicator appears on the call screen - green, orange, or red as your connection changes.
Tap the bars to open Connection quality. You’ll see a plain-language summary (e.g. “Your connection is good”) plus Network, Device, and Audio, each rated Good, Weak, or Poor. Device covers connection type, Wi‑Fi strength, phone temperature, battery saver, and low data mode; Audio covers your mic, incoming audio, and where sound is playing.
When the connection slips, you’ll get one tip that matches the situation (move closer to your router, switch to Wi‑Fi, check you’re online, turn off battery saver, etc.). Under Get help, open quick answers for “They can’t hear me,” “I can’t hear them,” and “Audio keeps breaking up.”
After you hang up, rate the call. 4 or 5 stars sends straight away. 3 or fewer asks what went wrong: I couldn’t hear them · They couldn’t hear me · Choppy or robotic audio · Call dropped · Something else (optional note). The sheet opens on its own at most once a week — tap ☆ Rate this call anytime on the call end screen to rate any other call.

Good to know
If the call cuts out for a moment, a soft reconnect tone plays until it’s back - replaces the old vibration and banner, on phone and WhatsApp calls.
