Keep one Contact connected to every Company they work with. Primary Company is a system label that can't be edited, so create a new association label between Contacts and Companies and use it to link consultants, shared finance contacts, and owners across accounts without duplicating their details or replacing their Primary Company.
What’s New?
- Multiple Company links: Create a custom association label between Contacts and Companies that allows many Companies, and link a Contact to every Company they work with.
- Keep adding after the first: Link another Company from the Contact’s associations.
- Link from either side: Add Companies to a Contact or link an existing Contact from a Company’s Associations tab.
- Primary Company stays central: Domain name automation and business name automation associate Contacts with Companies under Primary Company by default. Additional custom links sit alongside it.

Why This Matters
- Manage people across accounts: One consultant can be connected to each client Company using the same Contact record.
- Keep shared contacts easy to find: Link an accountant to the Companies they support.
- Avoid duplicate records: Maintain a person’s details once while representing their connections to several Companies.
How to Use
- Enable Association Labels and Multiple Companies for Contacts in Labs.
- In Settings > Objects > Companies > Associations, click Create association, choose Contacts, name the labels, and set the relationship to Many Companies.
- Open a Contact, click Add next to Companies, select the Company, and choose the new label.
- Save and repeat for other Companies within the label's limits.
- You can also open a Company and link the existing Contact from Associations > Contacts.
Pro Tips
- Primary Company can't be edited: It is a system label that links one Company per Contact. Use a new association label for every additional Company.
- Use existing records: Search for the Contact and Company before creating duplicates.
- Check relationship limits: The selected association must allow the number of Company links your process needs.
- Company merge fields use Primary Company: Linking additional Companies does not change which Company supplies values for these fields. Keep Primary Company accurate so your content uses the intended Company details.
